R&D Engineer

Your main responsibilities will be:
-Participate in establishing technological objectives in terms of performance of new processes
-Analyze and calculate mechanical systems as part of product development projects
-Participate in the coordination and planning of material and labor resources during design, analysis, and testing activities
-Write test reports and development meeting minutes
-Participate in product development meetings to develop hypotheses to improve the performance of various technologies
-Execute mechanical design on SolidWorks.

Experience and training

Quality inspector
Under the supervision of the Quality Manager, the quality inspector will inspect, control the goods and manage non-compliant products. Occasionally, the employee will participate in the problem analysis and resolution process. Other responsibilities and activities may be required of this position.
Main functions :
- Check the dimensions of the goods received using standard and specialized measuring instruments according to internal drawings or instructions;
- Control sub-assemblies and finished products;
- Analyze the data obtained to determine compliance;
- Document results and initiate requests for corrective actions if necessary;
- Transfer inspected parts and raw materials to the different areas provided for this purpose (using a forklift);
- Support production for all questions and problems related to quality ;
- Participate in the problem analysis and resolution process;
- Calibrate measuring instruments;
- Occasionally inspect parts from our local suppliers;
- Write work instructions;

Project Manager
We are a company operating in the engineering and manufacturing sector, which thanks to its know-how and technology has carved out a place as a leader in the lifting platform and room transformation industry, both nationally and internationally. These projects take place in an international construction environment.
The Project Manager will report directly to the Executive VP, General Manager of the company, and will coordinate the completion of projects in mechanical, electrical and construction engineering (in collaboration with the sales, engineering, procurement, planning, production and accounting).
The selected person will have to fulfill the following functions:
- Act as a point of contact with the client and its partners (architects, consultants and engineers) and ensure a good understanding of the technical parameters, our equipment as well as the requirements to ensure their integration into buildings (mechanical, civil and electrical);
- Review contracts and technical specifications to ensure compliance of our equipment with project requirements;
- Ensure an adequate level of exchanges between the different stakeholders involved and good communication of aspects related to the projects (write correspondence and manage communication between Gala, clients, on site subcontractors, etc.) and communicate objectives to internal collaborators (performance, budget, deadlines, etc.);
- Prepare schedules, budgets and cash flows for the projects in charge, and monitor their compliance;
- Manage the administrative aspects of projects and ensure their inclusion in contracts;
- Ensure the application of contractual clauses and coordinate their impacts and their integration into the implementation of projects;
- Document the evolution of projects and any changes or additions that may occur during the course of the contract (negotiate and manage changes to contracts);
- Ensure the resolution of problems that may arise during design, procurement, production or on site installation and compliance with all local standards, including those relating to health and safety;
- Participate in the project estimation process (engineering hours, production and installation costs) in collaboration with the estimation and sales team;
- Proceed with hiring subcontractors and organizing the rental of equipment (specialized or not), including the required insurance;
- Prepare the post-mortem of projects and participate in the continuous improvement process;
Required qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or civil engineering or relevant experience in one of these fields;
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in engineering, including 2 years in project management;
- Very good knowledge of English and French, both oral and written;
- Very good knowledge of IT tools in the MS Office suite (Excel, Word, MS Project);
- Ability to carry out several tasks simultaneously (multitasking) and to work under pressure;
- Ability to demonstrate relational skills in relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
- Team player.
